About Arab Excellence المشروع

Fostering Excellence through a global platform of Role Models to Inspire & Empower

Arab Excellence is an non profit organization based in 5 countries. Through meetings, interviews and programs based on self-made positive role models originally from the Arab world, Arab Excellence aims at inspiring & empowering the young generations (especially the underprivileged ones) with Arab success stories they can relate to. We already conducted interviews with more than 75 great role models in different countries and many more are being conducted.

Our impact on the youth is made through a new educative and training program based on the real experiences and stories of these Arab Excellence figures worldwide. Our aim is to help students and trainees nurture a mindset of Excellence and provide them with different ways of achieving it. We are currently working with key organisations and institutions (such as INSEAD, the Moroccan Stock Exchange etc…) to implement programs locally across the region and empower the youth.

Indeed, being exposed to inspiring role models from the same background is key to create a sense of identity while acquiring self-confidence and self-esteem. And this is all what it takes to empower a young person to become a future leader.

“We strongly believe that the solution to the education challenges is within the students and that the Best way to empower the youth is give them the tools and guidance they need to empower themselves!”
On top of the workshops and events with the underpriviliged youth across the MENA region, we have organized several conferences across the world such as at Stanford University, HEC Paris, the American University of Beirut among others…
We have also been invited to speak on different occasions about this topic and showcase these role models; the United Nations Forum in China, the International Forum in Istanbul, The OECD Annual Committee in Paris, INSEAD graduation Ceremony, TEDx, among others…
NB: Arab Excellence does not target any particular ethnic or religious group ; we simply focus on fostering excellence across the Arab Region, regardless religion, origin and political views. We target Arab and non Arab youth without distinction.

Important facts and statistics:

  1. More than 60% of the Arab population is less than 25 YO
  2. The youth unemployment in the Arab countries is the highest in the world: 23.2% against a world average of 13,9% (according to the U.N. International Labour Organization report of 2013)
  3. The WEF 2013 confirmed that >10m new MENA youth would become work force age every year for a decade with only 1m jobs available/year for them, thus a huge pool of un/under employed would be thrashing for a viable future.

  4. Across the world Half of today’s gradeschool students will likely end up doing work that hasn’t been invented yet, and will probably have 5 or 6 different jobs in their lives: youth can’t rely only on traditional education to get prepare
  5. In the last 10 years, internet & online courses have made knowledge widely available so learning is now a personal responsibility.
  6. If youth don’t have hope and direction, some of them could drift into the hands of those involved with crime or military – neither being healthy for the individuals or society.

This is why the most important to build and leverage a platform of positive Arab role models to inspire them and give them hope, and provide them with the tools and Core skills they need to define, shape and build their own vision and dream in life, and achieve excellence in the future.
